Life in the Borderlands
Gloria Anzaldua was born while in the Rio Grande Valley associated with South Texas in 1942. She described herself to be a Chicana/Tejana/lesbian/dyke/feminist/writer/poet/cultural theorist, and these identities were just the start of the ideas she looked into in her work.

Other Life Work
Gloria Anzaldua was a passionate observer of art as well as spirituality and brought most of these influences to her writings too. She taught throughout her life and worked tirelessly on a doctoral dissertation, which she was cannot finish due to well being complications and professional involves.
